Mentor Mentee

Every student of MMMC is assigned to one mentor. They are like your parents during your stay here. Every official thing you do here will have to go through them. They will be very person that will send out your results to your parents and by which you will collect your block papers from. I feel this is a very good system as it gives you a comfort that someone is always there for you. They don’t mind if you ring them up in the midnight, even if it’s just about finding someone to talk to. Mainly all the staffs of MMMC are mentoring a group of 10 students.

My mentor is Dr Arun Prakash, one of our dental lecturers. He teaches prosthodontics and also in charge in looking after the faculty when our dean is on his official duties in Malaysia. The first time we meet was by the pool side of Valley View Hotel. That was during the orientation. I recalled he was equally nervous as we were, trying his very best to get us all talking. Well, things did not stay the same. We always meet up once a week. He will check on each of us, make sure that we were all in good conditions. If exams or tests are around the corner, he will give us motivations. His favourite would be having one to one chat with you if you fail in any test. He is always ready to hear our complains and whines. You can pour out your troubles and ensure its safe with him. His is really like a father to us.

This, I can say, it’s what makes MMMC special~ ;)
